Mike Blum...
is going to talk about himself in third person. Strap in.
Mike's days were spent running the streets, and when he wasn't running the streets, he was running the gangs. And sometimes, he was just running. Make no mistake though, he was a cold-blooded killer, through and through. And he was six.
Time passed, as it often does. Mike finally had the gumption to pick himself up by the bootstraps, and then toss away the bootstraps he picked himself up with. The big city boy from Northern New Jersey headed out west and got himself an M.A. in writing at U.S.C. During that time he provided script notes and analysis for a clandestine television production company in Burbank. Only after completing his degree and leaving Los Angeles, did Mike gradually come to realize that performing was his true passion. Proving that an advanced degree is in no way an indicator of intelligence. Not even close.
Time jump to some years later, and here we are. (How many years isn't important. It's the experience that matters. Try to focus.) Mike Blum is a performer - an actor and emcee known for having a notably high level of energy and boasting a strong comedic/improvisational background.
Stage credits include the lead role of Bobby Sharp in Hysterical (T. Schreiber Theatre), Duke Orsino in Twelfth Night (Hudson Shakespeare Company), and the groom in New York Dinner Theater’s Godfather’s Meshuggener Wedding. Recent film roles include a lead in Organs of Opportunity, a Reel Bronx International Film Festival winner. He will soon pop up in Difficult People as a dancing Jew, and can already be seen in Woody Allen's Cafe Society as a dancing... Jew? It's unclear. He could be Italian.
Mike is a long-time event emcee, has performed comedy at venues such as Gotham Comedy Club and The Stand, and was trained in improvisation by Ian Roberts (founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade). He has trained as an actor at both Circle in the Square and the Atlantic Acting School.
